MAMMA MIA!

During the last weeks, the students of “PROYECTO INTEGRADO- LISTENING AND SPEAKING” have been watching and working on the film MAMMA MIA! It is a  funny musical  using the famous songs by ABBA. Have you seen this film? Go and watch it in English with subtitles. You can sing the songs at the same time in English. As soon as you finish , try to complete the following WORKSHEET. You will need to look for some information in WIKIPEDIA, too.

LOOK FOR INFORMATION AND ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

-When was the film seen for the first time?

-Did the film win any award?

-Where does the story take place?

-What are the names of the main female characters?

-How many SONGS by  ABBA can you hear during the film?

- Can you write the CHORUS lyrics of any of the songs?

-Have you ever heard about the group ABBA?

-Does any of the members of the group appear in the film?

-Did the girl finally find her FATHER?

-Did she get married? Why?

-Personal Opinion: Did you like the film? Why?

This is the film that the students of ESO, 4th have been watching lately. It was in English subtitled in Spanish. This kind of exercise is really good for students who want to improve their listening skill. We have also worked on comprehension, so when the film was over, they completed a WORKSHEET on the first part of the film. Can YOU do the same? Do YOU know the answers?

INVICTUS

This year, students of the group 1º Bchillerato MIX have seen the film INVICTUS. Before that, they had read about NELSON MANDELA on their text books and have learnt about this relevant person. Later on, they saw the film and finally they have worked on a worksheet to check out what they have learnt about Mandela, his life, South africa, Apatheid, etc. I hope they have enjoyed this kind of work. and I recommend you watchind the film.

As previous years, we have got information about the films that we can see at the European Film Festival. The documentary that we are going to see this year is called DIAMOND INSIDE. The groups of Bachillerato, 2nd will enjoy this activity. They will go to the CineZona in November . They will see the film in English with subtitles in Spanish. Later on, they will work on the story in their classes.

REMEMBER!
All the students must read during the year. Your teachers will tell you the names of the Readers for this first period of the year. All of you will have a test on these Readers before Christmas holidays.
Go to the library and BORROW (pide prestado) one copy ( only for 15 days). Go as soon as possible because there are NOT many copies, ok?.
This year, if you want you can have the possibility to listen to the CD of the story at home. ASK YOUR ENGLISH  TEACHER!

Esta es mi última entrada  para despedirme de momento de todo el alumnado en nombre del DEPARTAMENTO DE INGLÉS.

A todos/as  los/las que habeis trabajado durante el curso , seguro que ahora teneis la recompensa del descanso en verano y buenas notas en las finales, por eso “CONGRATULATIONS”. El resto tiene que seguir trabajando un poco más hasta septiembre que es cuando acaba el curso.

Finalmente a un grupo de vosotros/as os veré pronto en Peterborough, así que CU SOON (see you soon- nos vemos pronto)!

 

En este último trimestre, el alumnado de 1ºBCT está realizando un fantástico trabajo en el PROYECTO INTEGRADO “lISTENING AND SPEAKING”.

Ya que un número elevado de alumnos/as de este grupo van este verano a Inglaterra con las Becas de Idioma y Juventud, han elaborado y aprendido información de utilidad no sólo para ellos, sino para todos vosotros. Su trabajo ha consistido en realizar una WEBQUEST a través de la que han encontrado información sobre los principales monumentos de LONDRES y luego han realizado fantásticas presentaciones en el aula, durante las cuales hemos ido aprendiendo un poco más acerca de lo que probablemente veremos próximamente, o al menos sobre cultura británica.

FAREWELL!

Ya que esta es mi última entrada de momento para los alumnos/as de 2º Bachillerato, y tras haber disfrutado junto a ellos de un entrañable final de curso, quiero desearos lo mejor. Para los que aún no han terminado el curso, un poco más de esfuerzo para llegar a septiembre bien preparados  para una nueva etapa. Por ello, enseñaros la expresión Farewell! que es un adiós no tan coloquial como “good.bye” al que estáis acostumbrados, pero quizás más significativo ya que os quiero expresar !QUÉ OS VAYA BIEN!

Os recuerdo que los que no superásteis la prueba de pendientes en enero teneis una segunda oportunidad. Las fechas para estas pruebas son:

11 de mayo para PENDIENTES de 1º Bachillerato

24 de mayo para PENDIENTES de ESO  (cada alumno en su respectivas clases con su profesor actual)
